  • I had an iOS update go from waiting for review to being approved in 38 minutes. Now I wait for it’s Mac counterpart to be reviewed…

  • I will say that besides the smaller bezels, the curved titanium edges definitely make the new iPhone 15 Pro Max feel smaller in hand than its predecessor.

  • Said goodbye to Dublin by visiting the Guinness Storehouse.

  • Mission success. This year I went with the Pro Max, Natural Titanium, 256 GB.

  • Quick escape to Orlando 😄

  • I was lucky enough to attend one of the Vision Pro labs today. While I cannot talk about specifics, I am allowed to say that the lab experience was amazing, I got what I wanted out of it, and they should do more like these for future technologies.

  • I took this picture while flying to SFO today 🍎

  • Managed to score a ticket to Blizzcon in November. Second time attending with the first being in 2017. I will also extend my stay to go to the theme parks!

  • Reddit definitely isn’t the same without Apollo. I usually read news (and memes) there for breakfast, but I switched to my RSS feeds after 5 minutes of using the clunky official app. Already deleted it.

  • It looks like I finished Tears of the Kingdom just in time to get into Final Fantasy XVI today.

  • Obligatory app-in-visionOS-simulator screenshot. I have several things to take care of before it will compile as a real visionOS app and not as a “built for iPad” app. After that, tweaks and improvements for the platform.

  • With SwiftData being official, here’s the book I purchased all the way back in 2011 to learn Core Data. #WWDC

  • Today was the closest to a normal day I’ve had in about two weeks since I got covid. Those weeks I spent my time pretty much in bed enduring pain; unable to focus when awake. Now it feels weird — like coming out from a cave and seeing how much I missed.

  • Welp. After my whole family got infected, I have covid too.

    → 9:05 PM, Apr 26
  • Welp. Now entire family but me has tested positive for covid. Three freaking years avoiding this like the plague literally. I will need to keep testing since I’ve been exposed to all.

  • 3 years without anything and now my mother has covid. She’s asymptomatic for now. Family had managed to dodge it all this time.

  • Today I visited Uxmal in the morning after many years. Specifically the morning because later in the day it gets too hot!

  • Tetris on Apple TV+ is one of the few recent movies that smashed expectations. Clever and fun storytelling about the game’s roots in the USSR, although I did end up wondering how accurate some of the bigger scenes were (likely not that accurate).

  • Some scumbag cloned my credit card. I have notifications enabled so I noticed it quickly and turned off the card from the app. While calling customer support two more charges tried to go through on the deactivated card. All’s resolved for now.

  • App Review: Rejects app with a long, vague, generic explanation for a guideline we’ve broken.

Me: Asks a couple of thoughtful questions regarding the rejection in order to seek clarification.

App Review: Pastes the exact same generic explanation but this time with a screenshot.

  • I’ve recently gone back to primarily consuming RSS feeds for news/media now that I’m abandoning my Twitter setup.

App-wise, I was a huge fan of Unread (and will probably stick with it) but I’m giving the latest iteration of Reeder a try to see how much it’s changed.

  • Everything Everywhere All at Once is the most fun I’ve had with a movie in who knows how long. Fun as in I was laughing out loud, grinning, jumping, clinging to my seat all the way through. I regret not seeing it earlier.

  • Maybe my relationship with app review wouldn’t be so adversarial if most of the rejections weren’t BS but what do I know ¯_(ツ)_/¯

    → 12:34 AM, Jan 14
  • I think my relationship with app review has gotten so adversarial that each time I see a rejection I just feel fury without reading the reason first. This time it quickly subsided because I consider the rejection reason legit and I thank the reviewer for being clear.
