Like many other developers, I also participated in such a fight with Apple a while back. We just ended up doing what they asked. They said some categories like streaming were exempt, but our apps weren’t in one of those categories. We did not like it but it’s their house and their rules.
Nowadays, thankfully, adding IAP is easier thanks to services like RevenueCat. But still… I hope we can get some new rules with a positive impact for developers regarding this and many other app review pain points at this year’s WWDC.
